GENESEE COUNTY, MI — County Treasurer Deb Cherry is promising on-the-spot answers to questions about a taxforeclosure deadline that’s looming for thousands of properties in the county.

Cherry is hosting a foreclosure prevention event from 5:30-8 p.m. today, Feb. 26, at the Sarvis Conference Center at the Flint Cultural Center.

Cherry called the program the “perfect opportunity for people who need help” with overdue property taxes.

Owners who don’t pay their 2010 tax bills or haven’t been granted a hardship extension to pay them over the next year will lose their properties through tax foreclosure on April 1.
