U.S. Dept. of Treasury awards $1.5 million to Metro The U.S. Department of Treasury today announced the CDFI awards, which are being made through the fiscal year 2011 round of the CDFI Fund’s cornerstone program, the Community Development Financial Institutions Program (CDFI Program), and represent the largest single round of monetary awards in the CDFI Fund’s history.

Micro Loan Program for Small Businesses
Ryan Garza | The Flint Journal: Churchill's Food & Spirits in downtown Flint has spruced up its exterior and now has a new outdoor seating area. The restaurant's owner received a micro loan from Metro Community Development in Flint to help cover costs. The restaurant was closed for about six months after a kitchen fire in late December 2009.
